A photo gallery web application.
Technology
This application was created with a React.js frontend, using the react-photo-gallery component. The backend API was built using the Django REST Framework. The frontend is served using Netlify while the Django app is hosted on PythonAnywhere.
Regina's Rentables
A Web application for connecting with other users to find and rent out equipment in Regina
Technology
Regina's Rentables is built with the Django framework and Bootstrap. This project involved all steps of the SDLC, from requirements to implementation in an Agile environment. Data was stored using PostgreSQL and the site was deployed on a remote Ubuntu 18.04 server with Gunicorn and Nginx as a reverse proxy.
RecipeSearch
A React/Redux application for finding recipes based on health/diet restrictions.
Technology
RecipeSearch is built with the React library and uses Redux for state management, Ant Design for the use interface, and the Edamam Recipe Search API. The site is deployed using Netlify. The purpose of this project was to learn about state management (Redux) and how to combine it with React and Ant Design.
Forest Fires and Clustering
An unsupervised machine learning model that finds wildfire hotspots in California.
Technology
Created with Python 3.7, extracts California wildfire data points from an sqlite database on kaggle.com, selecting fires that burnt more than 100 acres from 2010-2015. Applies the k-means clustering algorithm from the scikit learn library to create a model with optimal locations for heavy firefighting equipment. Uses this model in a small fire response application. Maps the results on auto-generated HTML files with Folium (leaflet.js).
Mandelbrot Set Bitmaps
A C++ application for visualizing Mandelbrot sets (and its variations).
Technology
A small app created for the purpose of experimenting with C++ and Fractals. Included functionality for zooming into the bitmap. The app uses "bitmap_image.hpp" found here. Learn more about the Mandelbrot set on Wikipedia.
